About Lighthouse For Children

Lighthouse for Children is the home of programs, services and training opportunities in support of young children and their families. Community partners offer families a learning environment where they feel safe, supported, and prioritized.  This three-story community building houses the Child Development Center, the Community Learning Center, conferencing and office space for community agencies, as well First 5 Fresno County’s administrative offices.

First 5 Fresno County, the owner, formed Lighthouse for Children, Inc., a non-profit tax-exempt entity. Lighthouse for Children, Inc. applied for the New Markets Tax Credit Program established by Congress to spur revitalization efforts of low-income communities across the United States. Through this program, financing assistance was obtained for the construction of the Lighthouse for Children facility in downtown Fresno.

The building had its Grand Opening on April 24, 2015.
